Thinking

There are many levels of thinking. When we sleep, we think. When we eat, we think. When we're bored we think. We like to think about thinking.
Thinking is what we like to think distinguishes us from other animals - even from the higher order animals such as our closest relatives: the great apes. But how do we know they don't think?
It is a fact that humans think far too much - we can safely say that our knowledge of our surroundings have become very sophisticated.
But do we owe this to biology? Does our evolved frontal lobe account for the fact that we think on a different level than the other animals?
Homo Neanderthalis had a larger brain capacity than Homo Sapiens - but still they were not as advanced as us in thinking, creating.
5 major genes differ us from Pan Troglodytes (chimpanzee) and yet they are still not able to even communicate with sophisticated language, to express thoughts and concerns?
Many look for proof of God. But to me this is proof. No computer even comes close to process as fast as the human brain. There is no computer that can store infinite memories. Still don't see the proof?
Biology doesn't explain how we can think: how exactly do action potentials enable us to have feelings and emotions?
There are many unanswered questions of life.
We can't answer all of them.
What will cure cancer? How can we end poverty? We don't know.
But we can only do our best and God will do the rest.

Apple.

APPLE
Perhaps we could say that modern day physics started with an apple. The story goes that while Sir Isaac Newton was sitting under an apple tree in his garden, an apple fell on his head - and at that instant he looked up and saw the moon and concluded that gravity is what causes the moon to stay in orbit much like the apple which struck him in the noggins.
Should we be ever fortunate enough to have a fellow of science as great as Newton in our generation, who knows?
But suffice it to say, within the next 100 years, mankind will do greater things than many can even dream to imagine.
Man's greatest wars have never been about nations fighting against each other.
The greatest war a man has to endure is against sickness and the prospect of leaving his family behind.

CHASE.

CHASE.
The Chase; a never ending quest. To seek. To hope. To dream of the final destination.
Being involved in a chase is to embrace the thrill, to enjoy the cuts and bruises and to be finally rewarded in the end.
Or left alone in the dark, with nothing but raised hopes to reach a bitter end.
To Chase that one girl.
To hope and dream. Someday, maybe someday, the chase will end.
And through the rough climb to the mountain peak -
I will finally feel the exhilaration of victory!
Is the effort, the blood, the sweat and the tears worth it?
You bet your bottom dollar it is.
And as for now the Chase will be all but the figment of a dreamer.
And I'm the dreamer.

Chain

CHAIN.
Chains are inanimate objects but with great meaning in our society.
Chains are symbols of incarceration; to deprive another of liberty. To be arrested we are bound feet and hands, an imprisonment without an external boundary - a loss of mobility and one's learned helplessness.
Thus a Chain in the hand of men may lead to the binding, deprivation, torture & abuse of another. And we must always remember that with great power, man has a greater responsibility to preserve the scales of justice.

BEHIND

BEHIND.
We think of behind as the past; history. A distance gone by. And you're damn right it is.
While some may tell you there is an optimist's version of reality as opposed to a pessimist's version of reality, this is incorrect. We have both pessimistic qualities and optimistic qualities that make us human; it is our humanity - often referred as 'human nature'.
'Behind' is really subjective, but we cannot simply say that there are optimistic or pessimistic versions of reality and our common nuance (our understanding of common language) overrides any 'view' of behind. Behind is simply behind.
The past.
A time that once was, will never be.
And always remember that even if we were to travel back into history - the behind of our present existence; history will never be able to even repeat its future.
